1. BROQ BASICS

What is BROQ?

BROQ is a natural supplement that delivers a powerful compound called sulforaphane, which has many benefits for your health, body and brain. BROQ delivers more than double the amount of bioactive sulforaphane per serving of any other product you can buy. ( See how it compares.) BROQ is one of only two supplements in existence that contain sulforaphane. (Other supplements contain substances that your body can convert into sulforaphane.) BROQ is the brand name in North America for the French product Prostaphane, which has been tested extensively in clinical trials.

Is BROQ really different from other sulforaphane supplements?

Yes. See how it compares.

How do you pronounce BROQ?

It rhymes with "rock"!

What is sulforaphane?

Sulforaphane is the compound in broccoli and other cruciferous vegetables that is responsible for their many health benefits. There's been an explosion of research about sulforaphane in the past ten years. For more, check out The science of BROQ.

Can I get my sulforaphane from broccoli?

The short answer is: yes, but not nearly the level of sulforaphane that's in BROQ. You'd have to eat approximately three pounds of raw broccoli a day to get the equivalent of one daily serving of BROQ. (Cooking greatly reduces the amount of sulforaphane.) And, even then, you won't know how much you're getting, as there's a lot of variability due to freshness and growing conditions.

How about broccoli sprouts?

If you're prepared to do the work, yes, you can get as much sulforaphane as in a daily serving of BROQ. But you'd need to grow and eat about this much raw broccoli sprouts each day:

Do you have a fun 5-minute video that tells me the story of BROQ?

Thank you for asking! Yes, we do!! 😀 Here it is:

2. BROQ BENEFITS

How is BROQ different from other sulforaphane supplements?

(1) BROQ delivers more than double the amount of bioavailable sulforaphane per serving of any other supplement. (2) BROQ is one of only two supplements that contain sulforaphane. All others contain compounds that must be converted to sulforaphane in the body. (The other supplement containing sulforaphane is BrocElite™.) (3) The sulforaphane in BROQ is stabilized using a patented process that took 15 years to develop. (4) BROQ (under its European brand name, Prostaphane), has been extensively studied. This is not true of BrocElite™. See independent lab results on our Product Comparison page. These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.

How exactly was BROQ compared against other sulforaphane supplements?

On our Product Comparison page, we present an in-depth comparison of the top 30 sulforaphane supplements available in the US. All supplements were tested by this independent lab, which is a division of this company. You can view images of the certified test results by clicking on any product image on the Product comparison page. All products were purchased on Amazon in December, 2020.

Why does BROQ contain 30% more sulforaphane than shown on the label?

On our label, we promise to deliver 20mg of sulforaphane per serving. We produce BROQ with about 30% more than that amount—around 26mg. (This is confirmed by the independent lab results.) The reason for this is that the sulforaphane content may decrease over time, especially if the product is exposed to heat. Keeping BROQ refrigerated will help minimize decline in potency.

Why does it matter whether a supplement contains sulforaphane or its precursors?

One word: bioavailability. The sulforaphane in BROQ is 70% bioavailable, meaning that the expected amount of sulforaphane that will enter circulation in your body after you take one serving is 70% of what the capsules contain. When you take a supplement containing precursors, bioavailability will be 30% (if it contains the enzyme myrosinase) or 10% (if it doesn't contain myrosinase). ( Source)

One serving of BROQ is two capsules, which contain a total of 20mg of sulforaphane. Many studies have found significant benefits from this amount of sulforaphane.
